Emergency First Aid at Work or Basic Life Support Course
Wednesday 6th February 2019 - 9:30am
Savernake View Care Home, Priory Court, Salisbury Rd, Marlborough SN8 4FE
Would like to know basic first aid including the use of a defibrillator? Or are you a small business owner who needs the full 1 day accredited certificate to fulfil your service to your clients?
I run the 4 hour emergency course concurrently with the full 6 hour accredited Emergency First Aid at Work as the initial content is the same and then you can choose whether to stay on to cover the more everyday situations.
The course mixes theoretical and practical learning and assessment, and the accredited certificate lasts for three years. The venue is very comfortable, has free parking and supplies endless proper coffee and home made cakes and biscuits.
The cost per person including a manual and certificate is:
- 4 hour non-accredited basic life support £50
- 4 hour accredited basic life support £55
- 6 hour accredited emergency first aid at work £70
First Aid for Children
Thursday 21st February 2019
Marlborough Rugby club, The Common, Frees Avenue, Marlborough SN8 1DL
These sessions are tailored to the age group and are full of practicals to make them fun and memorable:
- 930-11am - Mini Life-Savers course for 5-8 year olds - £18 (£15 for a sibling)
We firmly believe that all children should learn First Aid as a skill for life, starting as soon as they can recognise the number 999. There are often stories in the media about young children dialling 999 when their parent / carer needed an ambulance. Would yours know how and when to call? And then how to roll you into the recovery position?
- 1130am-1pm - Mini Life-Savers course for 8-12 year olds - £18 (£15 for a sibling)
As they get older they are often the first person to react when their friend falls off a bike or chokes on a sweet, so this session also includes those skills.
- 130-330pm - Teen-Aiders course for 12-16 year olds - £24 (£20 for a sibling)
Teenagers need skills and confidence to look after themselves and each other as they spend more time away from adults and are liable to take more risks causing injuries and illness, so knowing basic First Aid is vital. In addition to the topics above they will also learn CPR.
The cost per person includes a handout, a certificate of attendance and nut-free refreshments.
The courses are taught by Louise Worsley, a qualified, enthusiastic trainer who is an ex-secondary school teacher, a primary school mum and DBS checked. She will also have an assistant for the 5-8 year olds session.
Parents are not required to stay but can use the free car park and walk 10 minutes to the lovely shops and cafes on Marlborough high street.
Private groups for any ages can also be arranged so do get in touch if this date is not suitable.
