One of my associates, Matt, is teaching the 16 hour regulated Outdoor First Aid course to some Duke of Edinburgh Award leaders at Testbourne school in Whitchurch, and they have space for a few more people.
Aimed at outdoor professionals and enthusiasts and those who work in remote environments, this course covers both life-saving skills and also care for more common problems that happen in the outdoors, such as blisters, dehydration and hypothermia. It fulfils the requirements of the major outdoor National Governing Bodies for first aid training (e.g. MLTUK, BCU) and is also suitable for Scout group leaders.
Click here for a full course description but the main thing we aim to give you on this 16 hour course is the confidence to step forward and help if needed. The course is interactive and assessed through both practicals and outdoor scenarios. The timings are 9am-6pm both days and the cost includes an accredited certificate valid for three years, a manual and drinks.
